50 litas – Vilnius Capital of Culture

The obverse of the coin features the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Lithuania, semi-circled by the inscriptions LIETUVA (Lithuania) at the top and 50 LITŲ (50 litas) or 1 LITAS (1 litas), respectively, at the bottom. n534/kulturossostine50ltrev.jpg The reverse of the coin bears a picture of a drawing Muse symbolising the spring of the European culture – the antique culture, and of an easel imitating the contours of the Gediminas Castle – the symbol of Vilnius.
