50 litas – Kęstutis, the Grand Duke of Lithuania

The obverse of the coin features the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Lithuania against a damascened background. Around it run the inscriptions LIETUVA (Lithuania), 50 LITŲ (50 litas) and 1999. The Columns of Gediminas are displayed on the sides. The reverse of the coin presents the picture of the Grand Duke of Lithuania Kęstutis according to the medal created by the sculptor Vytautas Kašuba. The inscription KĘSTUTIS DIDYSIS LIETUVOS KUNIGAIKŠTIS (Kęstutis the Grand Duke of Lithuania) runs around it and 1345-1382 at the bottom.
