5 euro – 30th Anniversary of the foundation of the Carabinieri Monetary Anti-counterfeiting Command
Series: Italy – Bimetal 5 euro coins
Obverse: official emblem of the Carabinieri Monetary Anti-
Counterfeiting Command inspired by the graphic element
which is most representative of the Carabinieri Corps:
on a detail from a bimetallic euro coin, reproduction of
the 13-pointed flame originating from the euro symbol
that here replaces the characteristic grenade. Around,
the inscription “REPUBBLICA ITALIANA” and the
cartouche with the inscription “COMANDO CARABINIERI
ANTIFALSIFICAZIONE MONETARIA”.
Reverse: a specialist of the Carabinieri Monetary Anti-
Counterfeiting Command wearing his typical lab coat with
a braid on the epaulette is depicted from behind in the
act of analysing a banknote under a microscope. On the
right, the name of the designer “A. VECCHIO”; below, the
value “5 EURO”, “2022”, the year of the coin’s issue, and
“R”, identifying the Mint of Rome; around, the inscription
“COMANDO CARABINIERI ANTIFALSIFICAZIONE
MONETARIA”, flanked by two stars.
