Series: Finland – Commemorative 5 euro coins
On the decision of the Ministry of Finance, Mint of Finland will publish a collector coin on 13th April 2012 in honour of the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. The company will celebrate the release of the collector coin in advance in the Kamppi shopping Centre in Helsinki on 5th April between 8 am and 6 pm. At the event, all ice hockey fans can purchase the coin in advance for its nominal value of five euros.
Mint of Finland is also enthusiastically waiting for the start of the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. The championship fever will start in advance on 5th April in Kamppi, when Mint of Finland presents the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship collector coins. In this advance marketing event, everybody can buy the ice hockey coin for five euros in a circulation grade quality without packaging, as well as a polished version of the coin packed in a folder telling the story of the coin.
"At this event, we will exceptionally offer a batch of circulation standard ice hockey coins before the official date of issue. We have received plenty of feedback with wishes that the coins could be obtained directly from the manufacturer for their nominal value. We are expecting many ice hockey fans, collectors and gift buyers to attend the event", says Henna Karjalainen, Communications Director at Mint of Finland.
In addition to the collector coins, Mint of Finland also offers 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship coin sets approved by IIHF, which records all this year's circulation coins as freshly minted matt BU versions.
Officially the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship collector coin will be available for sale on 13th April, when it can be purchased as a polished coin from the Mint of Finland's outlet webstore. The collector coins in circulation quality will be on offer in our webstore in 10-piece bags.
