25 kuna – Pelješac Bridge
Series: Croatia – Croatian commemorative 25 kuna coins
Metal composition: the core of the coin is made of an alloy consisting of 92% copper, 6% aluminium and 2% nickel, while the ring is made of an alloy exhibiting a silver lustre, which consists of 75% copper and 25% nickel, with a potential deviation of 2% per component.
Diameter and weight: the coin is shaped as a regular dodecagon, with the circumscribed circle diameter of 32 mm, with potential deviations as specified for the core and the ring, and weighs 12.75 g, with a potential deviation of ± 3.5%. The core of the coin is 18 mm in diameter, with a potential deviation of ±0.05 mm, and weighs 4.05 g. The ring is 18 mm in inner diameter, with a potential deviation of ±0.05 mm, and weighs 8.70 g.
Motif on the obverse: the inner part of the core and part of the ring feature a presentation of the Pelješac Bridge. Partly in the inner part of the core and partly on the ring, behind the bridge, featured is a presentation of the part of the Pelješac peninsula that is connected by the bridge with the mainland of the Republic of Croatia. The inscription “PELJEŠKI MOST” (PELJEŠAC BRIDGE) and the year of release of the coin “2022” are positioned on the ring, below the presentation of the Pelješac Bridge.
Motif on the reverse: the inner part of the core features two squares, one bigger than the other, bringing into mind the coat of arms of the Republic of Croatia and two parts of the territory of the Republic of Croatia which, shaped and connected in one stroke, are positioned in a way that symbolises road connections in the territory of the Republic of Croatia. A common oak branch with acorns and a blooming laurel branch are positioned below the bigger square, within the inner part of the core. The outlines of the bigger square reveal an image of a marten turned to the right, with the image continuing outside of the square, above the symbolic, imaginary line of the bridge and the smaller square. Positioned to the left from the marten, on the coin’s ring surface, is an image of the coat of arms of the Republic of Croatia and positioned to the right is the denomination numeral “25”, with the name of the monetary unit “KUNA” inscribed below the numeral. The inscription “REPUBLIKA” is laid out semi-circularly above the core, on the coin’s ring surface, while the inscription “HRVATSKA” is laid out below the core, on the ring’s surface.
