200 euro – 5th Centenary of Isabella I of Castile

The year 2004 marks the 500th anniversary of the death of Isabella "the Catholic", Queen of Castile between 1474 and 1504, and an outstanding figure in the history of Spain. The obverse reproduces a coin minted during the reign of the Catholic Monarchs, the 4-excelentes. The reverse features the coat-of-arms of the city of Granada situated on the building of La Lonja in the Royal Chapel of Granada.
