10 euro – Le déjeuner sur l'herbe

Monnaie de Paris is celebrating the phenomenal productivity of pictoral art in France for several centuries by unveiling a new series that pays tribute to the masterpieces of French museums. This 50€ Gold coin depicts one of the most celebrated works by Edouard Manet: Le déjeuner sur l’herbe. On display at the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, the work dates from 1863. The rural scene comes alive on the coin and leaps from the canvas.
