10 euro – Klosterneuburg

The new coin shows a view of the abbey from the slopes of the Leopoldsberg, the last foothill of the Alps. One sees clearly the Romanesque-Gothic basilica as well as the great copper dome surmounted by the imperial crown. The reverse shows the Gothic cloisters with a stained glass window of St. Leopold suspended in the foreground to heighten the three dimensional effect of the design.
