10 euro – The Age of Baroque and Rococo
The reverse evokes the Baroque and Rococo period in France with: the Gallery of Mirrors in the Château de Versailles; Voltaire, the emblematic philosopher and writer from the Enlightenment and the Sun King, depicted in a dance costume, in reference to other arts from that period: Lully’s music and Molière’s theater. Selective gold Plating enhance the Sun King on €50 and €10 silver coins.
The obverse of the coin continues with the principle that began in 2016. In the centre, the goddess Europa adorns the French coin. The Europa Star logo appears on the coin, symbolising the union between the participating countries.
