Ecuador is a country famous for its great sports competitors, both men and women, who are particularly known for their aptitude in race walking and who have won many Olympic medals. On the reverse of the coin is a rendering of an athlete shown during a race walk. The obverse features the Ecuadorian coat-of-arms as its central motif surrounded by the coats-of-arms of the other participating countries.
