7.5 euro - Sea Literacy (Vasco da Gama Aquarium 125th Anniversary)

Currently celebrating 125 years, the Vasco da Gama Aquarium remains committed to the promotion of Portugal´s aquatic biodiversity and knowledge about the seas, encouraging informed and responsible interactions with this important ecosystem and economic resource. In 2023, to promote sea literacy and pay tribute to an institution that has done so much for that cause, the Portuguese Republic issues this collector´s coin designed by Baiba Šime, a multidisciplinary artist trained at the Latvian Academy of Arts, who has worked for several years as numismatic engraver at the Portuguese Mint and has designed several commemorative and collector coins.
