Series: Austria - Klimt and his Women
The golden glorification of the love between a man and a woman, Klimt's The Kiss is one of the world's most famous paintings. Also one of the most often reproduced, it features on the obverse of the last coin in the series. It is, however, Klimt’s painting Emilie Flöge, shown on the coin's reverse, which experts often consider his best portrait of a woman. The artist himself was of the opinion that no painting could ever convey the charm of the real Emilie, his long-term companion.
