50 euro - Lucky Luke - 75 Years
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Lucky Luke, Monnaie de Paris is honouring the world of Morris through a complete collection of coins and medals.
This series features original illustrations by Morris.
The obverse of this coin features one of the plates from Lucky Luke's new album, "A Cowboy in High Cotton". We find here the character of Morris and his trusty Jolly Jumper, crossing a cotton field upon their arrival in Louisiana.
The reverse of the coin represents one of the most emblematic cartoon boards of the Franco-Belgian comic strip. Here, Lucky-Luke fights a duel against his own shadow and proves once again that he is indeed the fastest shooter in the west. The "75 ans" mention under the character's name celebrates the birthday of the famous cowboy. Finally, the face value and the yeardate are also present on the reverse.
