Series: Hungary - Silver forint coins
75th Anniversary of the award of Nobel Prize to Albert Szent-Györgyi
Albert Szent-Györgyi (16 September, 1893 - 22 October 1986) was a Hungarian physician and biochemist. He was awarded by the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine in 1937. He is the only Hungarian scientist until yet, who deserved the Nobel Prize for his researches conducted in his home-land. This silver coin is the first part of the new collector series of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, Central bank of Hungary celebrating Hungarian winners of the Nobel Prize. The designer of coin, Fanni Vékony engraved the words of Szent-Györgyi upon discovery: "Seeing what everybody has seen, and thinking what nobody has thought." The reverse of the coin also depicts the portrait of the scientist, while the obverse shows the C-Vitamin source paprika.
