25 euro - Easter of Resurrection

The Vatican Mint dedicates to Easter the 25 euro colour silver rectangular coin. On the coin’s reverse side, artist Gabriele Di Maulo depicts Jesus in the act of emerging from the tomb. Part of the red cloak (the colour symbolising the passion and blood He shed) is held in His left hand where we can see the deep wound left by the nail; the blessing right hand forms the sign of the Trinity with His fingers. Above and behind the figure of Jesus, a dove appears as a symbol of the Holy Spirit, whose rays radiate forth illuminating the whole scene.
