Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944) developed a new aesthetic. Together with Franz Marc, he founded the Der Blaue Reiter group, which led to the birth of fauvism in France. Later, he taught at the Bauhaus in Germany until it closed in 1933. On the obverse is a representation of the work “Composition 8”, the date of its completion (1923) and the artist’s signature. The reverse features a portrait of Kandinsky, the dates of his life (1866-1944) and the face value.
