Winners have been chosen for the designs of the collector coins for the music of Raimond Valgre and for the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi

On Monday 15 April the eight-member jury invited by Eesti Pank chose the three winners in the competition to design silver collector coins dedicated to the music of Raimond Valgre and to the Winter Olympics in Sochi.
The winner in the competition to design the silver coin for Raimond Valgre was the painter Berbel Lätti for her design called Musical Notation. Second place went to the artist Liis Dvorjanski for Influence, and third place went to Heino Prunsvelt for the design Rose on the Beach Sand.
The competition to design a collector silver coin for the Estonian delegation and athletes to the XXII Winter Olympic Games in Sochi was won by Taavet Kohal with the design Frosted Glass. In second place came the design Antique by artists Tiiu Pirsko and Mati Veermets and third place went to the jeweller Kairin Koovit for the design Medal Ribbons.
Once the coin is released, the winning designer will receive a prize of 2000 euros while the second-placed design will win 1000 euros and the third-placed 500. Designers who worked in teams will share the prize.
The choice of designs for the collector coins will be confirmed by the Supervisory Board of Eesti Pank and then the winning designs will be published on the Eesti Pank website.
Eesti Pank plans to issue the coin dedicated to the music of Raimond Valgre in October 2013 and the coin for the Sochi Winter Olympics at the start of 2014.
