10 euro - Centenary of the Foundation of the Catholic University of the Sacred Hearth

The Vatican Mint is celebrating the centenary of the foundation of the Università del Sacro Cuore with the issuance of a 10 euro silver coin. The University’s coat of arms, faithfully reproduced by artist Gabriella Titotto, represents the identity of the institution: at the top, the Sacred Heart of Jesus; in the center, the Alma Mater (an expression used to indicate the University from which one graduated); at the sides, two students; lastly, the Latin phrase: “Universitas Catholica Sacri Cordis Jesu Mediolani”. Since its founding, it has become the largest university in Europe, always remaining faithful to its Catholic identity.
